Install Color.io on your device
Color.io is a progressive web application (PWA). Progressive Web Apps run in the browser but they can also be installed as fullscreen apps on many devices.Desktop installation is currently supported by Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox (requires an addon) on Linux, Windows, macOS, and Chromebooks.
Google Chrome
macOS, Windows 10 / 11, Linux, Android
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Go to https://app.color.io
- At the top right of the address bar, click Install.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to install the PWA.
- You can now launch Color.io directly from your desktop as a fullscreen application.
Microsoft Edge
Windows 10 / 11, macOS
- On your computer, open Edge.
- Go to https://app.color.io
- At the top right of the address bar, click on the install icon.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to install the PWA.
- You can now launch Color.io directly from your start menu or your desktop.
Mozilla Firefox
Windows 10 / 11, Linux, macOS, Android
Firefox has recently stopped native support for progressive web app installation. You can still install Color.io to your desktop with a free extension to enjoy the standalone fullscreen experience on your desktop device. Just follow these instructions:
- Install the Extension Progressive Web Apps for Firefox
- Follow the instructions in the official documentation
- Go to https://app.color.io
- Install Color.io as a desktop app from the PWA extension
- You can now launch Color.io as a standalone app directly from your desktop.
Apple Safari (iPad only)
iPadOS
Important: Safari does not yet support PWA installation on desktop devices. To install Color.io as a fullscreen desktop application on your Mac, iMac or MacBook please consider one of the supported browsers above.
Install Color.io on iPad
- Open Safari on your iPad
- Turn your iPad into Landscape orientation
- Go to https://app.color.io
- Tap the Share icon
- Tap "Add to Home Screen"
- You can now launch Color.io as an app on your iPad
